St. Ambrose

The original St. Ambrose Church was built in 1886 on the site where the rectory/youth center is now located. The small church was the vision of Fr. Edward Wunder, who was an assistant at St. Patrick’s, Cumberland. The administration of the parish was placed under the direction of the Capuchin Franciscan Friars. When a larger church was needed, a building fund was initiated, and ground was broken on the present site on October 30, 1955. The first resident pastor was Fr. Carol Warner, OFM, Cap.
